Context
Swift Transport needed a digital operating model that could handle ticketing, fleet tracking, and passenger workflows in a single integrated platform. The existing approach involved manual ticket issuance, no real-time fleet visibility, and fragmented revenue reconciliation — all of which created operational risk and limited growth capacity.
The brief was clear: build a system that works reliably in the field, is simple enough for operators to adopt quickly, and gives management the visibility they needed to run the business.
What We Built
SAI Technology designed and developed a purpose-built platform for Swift’s operational model:
- Passenger ticketing — digital ticket issuance, validation, and history across routes and trip types
- Fleet visibility — real-time tracking and status monitoring for vehicles in active operation
- Operator interface — a streamlined field-facing interface optimized for speed and low-error operation
- Revenue and reconciliation dashboard — trip-level financial tracking with daily and route-level reporting
- Admin controls — route management, scheduling, and staff access configuration
The Approach
We prioritized the field-facing flows first. A ticketing system only works if operators can use it reliably under time pressure. We ran structured usability sessions with actual operators before finalizing the interface design.
The backend was built to support offline-tolerant operation, accounting for connectivity gaps in transit environments. Reconciliation logic was built around how Swift’s finance team actually closes out their day — not how a generic system assumes they do.
Outcome
Swift Transport gained a platform that replaced manual ticketing entirely and gave management live fleet visibility for the first time. Passenger handling time dropped materially at high-volume stops. Revenue reconciliation shifted from a multi-day manual process to a same-day dashboard view.
The platform is actively in use and maintained by SAI Technology on an ongoing managed services basis.
