SAI Technology migrated Transglobal from a self-hosted email environment to a professionally managed Microsoft 365 tenant, strengthening email security, business continuity, identity management, and operational resilience after a cyber incident.
Reduced email infrastructure risk, improved business continuity, and gave Transglobal a secure, professionally managed communications foundation after moving away from internally hosted mail servers.
Context
Transglobal Logistics Ghana Ltd. operates in a sector where communication reliability is mission-critical. Freight forwarding depends heavily on timely email communication with customers, shipping lines, agents, customs stakeholders, finance teams, and overseas partners.
Before engaging SAI Technology, Transglobal was running its own email server. This created a significant operational burden: internal hosting required maintenance, security hardening, uptime monitoring, backups, spam protection, and incident response capacity. For a logistics business, that level of infrastructure responsibility can quickly become a distraction from core operations.
The risk became more urgent after Transglobal experienced a cyber incident. The incident exposed the weakness of depending on internally hosted email infrastructure without a dedicated enterprise-grade security and administration layer.
Transglobal needed more than email accounts.
They needed a secure, professionally managed business communications environment that could reduce infrastructure risk, improve reliability, and give management confidence that a critical part of the business was being properly handled.
What We Built
SAI Technology implemented and manages a Microsoft 365 environment for Transglobal, replacing the self-hosted email setup with a more secure and scalable cloud-based communications platform.
The managed environment supports:
- Microsoft 365 tenant setup and administration — structured configuration of the organization’s Microsoft environment
- Email migration and continuity — moving business email away from the self-hosted server and into Microsoft 365
- Domain and DNS configuration — proper setup of MX, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC foundations for improved deliverability and email security
- User and mailbox management — account creation, access control, mailbox administration, password resets, and lifecycle support
- Security baseline configuration — improved identity, authentication, and access controls for a safer communications environment
- Business continuity — reducing dependence on fragile internal infrastructure and improving availability of email services
- Ongoing managed support — administration, troubleshooting, monitoring, configuration updates, and user support
The service was designed to make Microsoft 365 part of Transglobal’s operating backbone, not just a software subscription.
The Approach
We started by addressing the immediate business risk: Transglobal’s email system was too important to remain dependent on a self-hosted server without dedicated infrastructure management.
SAI Technology migrated the organization to Microsoft 365 and configured the tenant to support day-to-day operations across teams. The work included domain configuration, mailbox setup, user access, security foundations, and operational support.
The migration approach prioritized continuity. Email is not a “nice to have” system in freight forwarding — it is where quotations, shipping instructions, documents, approvals, invoices, customer communication, and partner coordination happen. Any downtime or misconfiguration could directly affect service delivery.
Once the core environment was stabilized, SAI Technology continued managing the platform as an ongoing service. This gave Transglobal access to professional administration without needing to build an internal IT department for Microsoft 365 management.
Outcome
Transglobal moved from a high-risk self-hosted email setup to a professionally managed Microsoft 365 environment.
The business gained a more reliable communications foundation, stronger email security configuration, and better continuity for daily operations. Management no longer had to depend on internally maintained email infrastructure for a mission-critical function.
Users gained access to a modern workplace environment with managed mailboxes, improved access control, and support when issues arise. The organization also created a stronger foundation for future business systems, including document management, workflow automation, approvals, and broader Microsoft 365 adoption.
For Transglobal, the result was not just a migration from one email system to another. It was a move away from infrastructure fragility toward a more secure and professionally managed digital operating environment.
Why It Matters
Email is one of the most attacked and most business-critical systems in any organization. For freight forwarding companies, it is even more sensitive because it carries customer instructions, shipment documents, financial communication, and partner coordination.
Running email internally may appear cost-effective at first, but it increases operational and security responsibility. After a cyber incident, the real cost of weak infrastructure becomes painfully clear.
A managed Microsoft 365 service gives businesses the reliability of enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure, combined with the administration and support needed to use it properly.
For Transglobal, SAI Technology provided both the migration and the managed operational layer behind it — helping the company strengthen its communications, reduce cyber risk, and build a more resilient foundation for digital transformation.
